At-Home Kids' Activities⎯Dollar Tree & Walmart Haul!

Writer: anne wilsonanne wilson

Hey, friends, and welcome! This morning, Chris took a trip to Walmart, and I went to Dollar Tree this afternoon. We took turns running errands to keep the kiddos at home because we don't want them to experience the chaos of the stores with social distancing and exposure to any harmful germs. We were able to find them a few essentials they needed, but we also wanted to treat them to some new toys and activities for inside and outside the house. Normally, we'd love to take them on outdoor adventures and go to parks and let them ride their bikes and skateboards, so we're always searching for new ways to keep them busy indoors. We scored some amazing, affordable finds today that Gregory and Arthur are loving so far!

First, check out some of the stuff Chris found at Walmart!

In the first picture, Arthur is posing with his new Power Rangers Saber Sword Toy (Gregory got one too, of course). Any time we find a new sword, light-up saber, or kid-friendly weapon, we know they'll have a blast with it. The second photo is their new video game that was only $15! With a combination of Lego and Marvel, how much better can it get?

Chris also bought them a few new clothes, because they've been growing and are sizing up in just about everything. We definitely recommend Walmart for affordable kids clothing. Comment below if you're looking for a more detailed kids' clothing post!

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of amazing things I found for them at Dollar Tree.

My local store offers a huge selection of coloring, activity, word search, and puzzle books that have all sorts of games and stories. Some of them also include stickers! I found several of the characters that they enjoy and love, including the Avengers, Mickey Mouse, Paw Patrol, and Cars. The bubbles are for outside-time, and the bath bombs are for this evening before bed.

I also grabbed crayons, batteries, some baskets and storage tubs for them to stay organized (which is nearly impossible, I know!) and a couple small toys.

Share with me your favorite affordable activities for kids! We always love to try new things.
